Marie Louise Brent. (WORLD WAR I)
WHO SHE WAS….
- She studied Art in Paris at the Academie Colarossi under famous Parisian sculptors
- Volunteered for the AFFW (American Fund for the French Wounded)
- Worked in the Mask Studio with Anna Coleman Ladd for French Soldiers
- Received Legion of Honor Award from French Government
- Was a War Correspondent and Advocate for the French
Her story is fascinating, deeply moving and vividly reported by Marie Louise herself and the people she worked alongside. As a side note, I am her relative and have access to even more information from family letters, etc. (We called her Ashee!) She is my great grandmother’s sister.
